Great video, Carson. Smooch sure keeps the rest of the bunch at bay. Nobody gets near my excavation! The donkeys aren't afraid of her either.I guess that's why donkeys can chase down coyotes since they don't fear dogs. Are donkey's afraid of anything? Best always, Sandra
I love Smooch's attachment and protection of his "digs". And all the other critters watch to see what he might find. Too funny! Simple pleasures for simple folks,
It looks like Alan is thinking of making his own hole! Love the way Smooch defends her territory - especially cute when she stuck her paw through the fence to smack the boys!
sometimes your relationship with smooch makes me want to have a dog. but then you post this and i'm satisfied to not - she's harder on the land than my horse! it is quite an adorable mix of species you have there.
Gosh...if you ever need to dig a new well... :) The digger at my house is Russell. Do your donkeys dig? My friend tells me the reason goldminers used burros was cause they are so good at digging! lol
I love the paw through the fence and did you catch Alan pawing at the ground? I think he thought Smooch might be onto something good. Maybe Smooch would like you to plant a new tree in that spot and she prepared the ground for you.
Did you fill it in? Maybe she was trying to make a cool spot. Good thing there was the fence or a few donkeys would have some teeth marks in their noses! You might let her dig, who knows maybe there are valubale artifacts down there!
LOL! Like Snappy Di, at first I thought she wanted to go under the fence to see the donkey kids. However, I realized differently as soon as she spit and pawed at them! Looks like Alan wanted to get into the act as well - maybe he was going to connect 2 holes?
Good gosh but Smooch is a SERIOUS digger!!! Bet she was exhausted after that adventure ...
ReplyDeleteForget Bin Landen....that gal's headed to China! That's some serious hole diggin there.....
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Smooch can did such a big hole! At least you won't need to trim her toenails any time soon! She just took care of that for you!
ReplyDeleteFunny, too, how she tries to protect her hole from the spectators :-)
So what did she ever find there?
ReplyDelete(Or was she just practicing her treasure digging techniques?)
LMAO.... I thought she was headed under the fence with that digging to break her donkey friends out of the Big House.

ReplyDeleteNow if you could just get Smooch to dig where YOU want a hole!

LOL It is planting season!! Maybe a cool spot too! Cute as she teased Hank and the donks!!!
ReplyDeleteThe donkeys look so fascinated with what the dog is doing and even seem to want to help. Cute post!
ReplyDeleteThat made me smile! Looked like Smooch was having a great time digging and teasing the others. Now I can't get the song out of my head!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice of Alan to offer to help. But a true artist generally resents such offers.
ReplyDeleteI totally lost it at the backhoe comment.
:)
So cute! For a minute I thought Smooch was going to have a whole lineup of diggers.
ReplyDeletethat hole was HuuUGE!
