Our window on the wind

Does the origin of the word "window" have anything to do with the word "wind"? If not, it should. Because there are days when the wind is blowing so hard that the only way Smooch and I can enjoy the outdoors is through the view from this window.

The boys and Lucy usually congregate near the trees outside this window after breakfast.

Me: I see Hank and George, but where are Alan and Lucy? Do you see them, Smooch?

Smooch: Of course I see them. My eyesight is far superior compared to yours.
They're hiding in the tree cave.

Me: Show-off.

  1. How wonderful that you put that window seat in, and what a hoot to see Alan and Lucy 'hiding' in the cave tree! I guess there is not enough room for four?

  4. Alan and Lucy got the best spot out of the wind, and George and Hank are the big brave men standing guard. Good boys!

Good luck with your water situation. Great neighbors! It always happens on the weekend, doesn't it.

  10. I can't wait to see what my guys do with "their" new trees. We are used to a big open pasture with huge tall Douglas firs to stand UNDER, not IN!
