It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind

Overall, the boys are adjusting very well to having a sister.

George is starting to understand that when Lucy changes her mind
about whether he can share her hay...

...it's best just to walk away from the situation.
There's no point in arguing with a woman. She will always win.

  1. I bet Lucy softens up once the rules are perceived to be Completely Understood.
I'm feeling a little bit sorry for poor ol' George.

  2. Getting a big sister is like adding a new baby to the sibling line up, only in reverse!

Looks like the burro brothers are humming the tune to Aretha Franklin's "R-E-S-P-E-C-T". :)

  3. Hmm. Interesting that she didn't have Alan leave. He must have not been eating the good stuff.

  4. George is a smart, smart boy. It's so nice to see them all getting along... you must just love sitting and watching them. They look great together!

So, are you going to get a big tub? :)

  6. Lucy has "THE LOOK", down pat, doesn't she..don't you just love the longears. I enjoyed the last picture where you managed (don't know how you do it) to capture Lucy between the legs of George, as he's walking passed her.

  7. OHhh.... I feel so bad for George! Hopefully Pat's right and things will calm down after Lucy feels more comfortable.

  11. I am SO loving this entire experience! Deepest gratitude to you for sharing the herd dynamics. And I like that you have some photos depicting the size differences; little Alan is such a sprite! LOL I'm happy for you and Lucy . . . are Smooch and Lucy pals now?

  12. I feel sorry for the boys too. I hope they soon regain their carefree zest for life. I'm thinking they deserve some one-on-one scritching time with Mom.

  13. Smart boy, that George. He's a fast learner!

So glad to see everyone is getting along. It just warms the cockles of my heart!

  14. Your captions totally capture the moment in each photo! I love how Lucy has her eye/ear on George in the first photo. I'm glad he's figuring out her rules. :)

  15. I love watching the dynamics of the herd. Hank is just hanging out by himself. I think Lucy and Hank understand each other well. Lucy will get George and Alan to come around to her way of thinking really soon.

  16. I mean here are two little burros minding their own business and this big badass comes over and bosses them? Oh I want to hug George!

  17. You didn't raise no dummies.

I can really see the size difference between Lucy & the boys here. I had no idea she was so much larger.

  18. It makes me laugh to see Alan in the middle of it all, looking oh-so-innocent.
I love seeing the three of them together like this, even if Lucy is still needing to send out small reminders who the new boss is. :-)

  20. Is Lucy a little more easy going with Alan???? I just remembered that I saw a picture of her (before I purchased her) with a black foal by her side. Hummmm

  22. Alan seems to have "invisible" all figured out. Poor George, I wonder how long it will take before he schemes up some adorable cuteness to get back in the limelight.

  24. Alan looks so small in the first photo.

Thank you all at 7 MSN for brightening my day, every day! It's been a tough 2 days at work. I would give anything to work at home and be around the animals, fun & love you have.

  26. What I love best is that she is so at home with you and the boys and it didn't take long at all. You know your boys and knew how to bring them together and let the rest play out. You know your critters very well. As always, you impress the hell out of me.

  28. It's so hard with a new addition - there's only so much "ME" to go around. Our new puppy is spreading us all a little thin... but, it's SO worth it. :)
