Don't be fooled by Daffodil's unassuming exterior – she's a high-maintenance tyrant. If she decides it's too cold in the house, she parks herself in front of the woodstove until I do something about it.

I have 3 outdoor cats, including Daisy, an orange and white tabby. She prefers to be outside until it gets chilly. Then, she sits by the front door and waits for us to open it, then dashes in! She'll sleep inside at night now. She also enjoys a drink from our bathroom faucet!
Daffodil is not only gorgeous, she's smart too. My late, great Bear would park himself in front of the fireplace and roast himself. Literally. I always expected him to burst into flames at some point. Fortunately, it never happened.

I think that face has "tyrant" written all over it. We have a barn cat who decided last month that she had had enough of the whole "barn with companions, mice, hay loft, litter box, food, water AND heat lamp and heated pad for my feet" scene and walked 100 yards to the house to meow outside the door, at night. Guess who's in the house??
I used to have a dog that did that ... made it nice during the night if the house got too cool. Yes, a four-legged thermostat! LOL

ReplyDeleteNancy, I redecorate daily the match the sky. Yeah, right. The stove is usually a greyish-brown - the early morning light makes it look blue here.
