Down the Road with Smooch ~ December 2010

Humidity: 32 percent

Wind: Not a stinkin' bit. Amen. The air was so still, I could hear the train rumbling from seven miles away.

On the iPod: Nothing. Silence would be the only cure for the chaos of the last 48 hours.

Attire: Baseball cap, quilted barn jacket, sweatshirt, turtleneck, jeans, sneakers, fingerless gloves with the mitten foldover things.

Observations:
1. The 35mm /1.8 lens makes it seem like we were walking in daylight. We weren't.

2. Smooch normally operates on high alert; in the darkness, she switches over to I'll-protect-you-from-whatever-is-making-noises-over-there alert. I love my dog.

3. The black angus cows that were walking down the road in front of us wouldn't have stood a chance if I let go of the leash. As it happened, the dust they kicked up in their mini-stampede made a pretty picture.

4. By the time we got home, I had decompressed and all was right with the world.

Whenever I go missing for awhile, there's usually a good reason. This time, my computer crashed big time. I was disconnected from the world for a couple of days and vice versa. It was not pretty.
