What on earth did he see to make him high-tail it? Looks like he's really digging in, anxious to be anywhere but there!
ReplyDeleteThat looks more like a fun hightail than a flee hightail.
ReplyDelete:-p
Love his coloring. He stands out in a crowd, or when high-tailing it.

Pat, near as I can figure he either saw a ghost or caught a whiff of something scary because there was nothing out of the ordinary that I could see.
ReplyDeleteCaution! Burro stampede in progress!
ReplyDeleteMust have been something in the air? I caught three of my five running around the pasture also. Maybe donkey games?
ReplyDeleteKinda reminds me of our housecat. She runs like that when she is pretending that we are chasing her. All we gotta do is take a step towards her and she hightails it away into the other room. Silly Kitty.

I'm imagining the thunder of hoof beats as I look at the pictures. It looked to me like he was hearing something because his ears were turned forward when he was looking and then back when he high tailed it. Or does he put his ears back when he runs to lower his wind resistance? He's such a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteNow you have me wondering about the biology behind raising of the tail when fleeing. Whitetail deer got their name from that very behavior.
ReplyDeleteWonder if it's just a muscular response when the entire hind end of the animal is in motion?
Regarding your twitter and Zac(Brown?)----I think he just wishes he could have been a grunge band instead of a c/w band. :)
ReplyDeleteI kinda giggle at how low the high tail is. (tail placement) Spooks, they are everywhere, just ask your equine. Great pics as always.
ReplyDeleteAww poor Alan, musta been some donkey eating monster out there!
ReplyDeleteUh-huh! Got it!
