We let everybody get acquainted from opposite sides of the fence first, then introduced them one by one.
Within minutes, Bernard, Alan, George and Hank were all sharing the same space and getting along just fine.
Bernard seemed to feel right at home and acted like he owned the place.
And he was not shy about ass-erting himself when necessary.
George was captivated by this littler version of himself...
...and wherever Bernard would lead, George would follow.
Actually, wherever Bernard would lead, all of us would follow.
Come on, Hank! You're missing the parade.
Bernard's mom was very happy that he played so well with his new friends and didn't get into any trouble.
When it was time to go home, Bernard led us all back to the barn.
George: He's pretty cool for a little kid.
Alan: Think we should invite him back?
George: Heck yes. It's fun to have somebody new to play with.
Alan: Hmmm. You think we can convince mom to get us a full-time playmate?
George: I'm thinkin' it's a possibility.
That is simply too cool how well the boys got along and had such a good time!
ReplyDeleteAnother full-time playmate? Are you trying to tell us something Carson? Is a little one coming your way?
I KNEW something was up between you moms. How cool that they all got along and behaved themselves.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean there may be more adoptions ahead for the 7MSN bunch?
(Loved all the photos, but especially the parade of burros and Justina. Too cute!)
So much fun to watch this!
ReplyDeleteI love watching animals interact and figure things out :)!
Love the parade! Great pictures. I too wonder if that is a hint of a little one. Wouldn't pictures of a small young one be great? Not that we get a vote but just in case.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, what fun!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if, nose to nose, George and Bernard felt as if they were looking in a mirror.
Oh, they are SO sweet together !
ReplyDeleteAre you teasing us or do we have something to get excited about?
I will be glued to the screen waiting for the announcement!
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of your posts about George and Alan.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww I am SO happy Bernard, George & Alan had a great time :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe the burrito brothers will become a trio?
Those boys never fail to entertain me over my morning coffee!! Feel free to bring another home :-)

I'm reading between the lines and also looking into my crystal ball and they both say, 'something's up at 7MSN'.

Your pictures look so fabulously and beautiful knowing that Bernard, George and Sam got along just as great!!! Indeed, Justina looked so happy knowing that they all got along well!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteI think it's hilarious that Bernard was leading the rest of the boys around! I'm sure he can't wait to come back for another playdate...and I hear he's bringing Ellsworth! How fun! Do I hear the pitty-pat of some new little burro feet coming soon?
ReplyDeleteI knew something was up. Is it going to be that lovely big girl that reminded you of lyle?
ReplyDeleteSo very sweet!! I'm curious...do burros have difficulty getting along with other burros? Or, just like any other animal, is it prudent to mix them slowly?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have up your sleeve ;)
Ohhhhh I love where this is leading... another playmate!! Don't keep us in suspense too long - can't wait!
ReplyDeleteFrom the comments, all of your followers know you and Justina so well. I, like the others, will be waiting to see the "new development". How exciting to have such a darling visitor. But then Bernard is so cute anywhoooooo.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, great fun!!
ReplyDeleteYou got some beautiful shots, Carson. My favorite is the fifth one - wow. George and his Mini Me. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun yesterday and are looking forward to the next visit. Don and I also talked about how Bernard didn't get a nap yesterday and how he'll probably sleep the day away today.
And - too funny that we both have a pantry full of canned pumpkin! :D
p.s. Our vote is for TWO more BLM burros. :D
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Glad they had a good time!
ReplyDeleteThey are precious. All the pictures are wonderful, but I particularly like the 5th picture from the top of George and Bernard. It makes me smile. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThey looked so cute playing together. Bernard makes a perfect mini-me for George too. It would be hard to tell them apart if it wasn't for the difference in size. Great pictures. Poor Hank he must have felt he was outnumbered by the burros.
ReplyDeletethat was so adorable and looks like a good time was had, George is funny, following Bernard everywhere!
ReplyDeleteAh, Bernard is so sweet, and your boys are very good at baby-sitting :D. I hope you get a new family member soon!
ReplyDeleteOh please, two more burros! Bernard sure took charge! Nice of George and Alan to be so accommodating.
ReplyDeleteThey took to each other so easily. Even Hank seemed to enjoy having Bernard visit.
ReplyDeleteSo another Burro for the boys and maybe just maybe Hank would welcome a larger equine, such as himself.
I'm late to this party, but am glad to see everyone got along so very well. It took me a minute to tell George and Bernard apart---George has stripes on his knees. He's not so obviously taller in all the pictures.
ReplyDeletePlease don't wait too long to spill about the new addition you will be getting.
I am wondering why George has the stripes on his knees and Bernard doesn't? Is it because he is too young for them?
ReplyDeleteBernard may be small, but he has great leadership skills! Bet he had fun exploring all of your land. Loved the picture of him & George side by side and everyone in a line following the leader :)
ReplyDeleteawwwww! too much fun; what a great party! It is interesting how quickly they fall into their roles. Bernard commands the attention and leadership but is not a bully about it.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to more playdates in the future :) I must say.....it is easier to have a play date for the 2 legged kids. Strapping child in a car seat is a hell of a lot easier than loading a donkey on a trailer.....I'll quit complaining....
Ahhhh....can't have too many donkeys, right?
