  1. I like this shot.

I can't photograph a sinking sun at my house... too many trees in the way, so I'll just have to sit here and sigh over your fabulous photo.

  2. Lovely!!!!

I think big moons are just beautiful.

We've had some really nice moon rises here recently, I (unfortunately) have not had a camera around to capture them.

I do have a question for you. Do you have any tips for turning photos into note cards, postcards, calendars or other products?

What resolution do photos need to be and are there any other considerations you take as to which photos will reproduce the best?

I got some really awesome photos of our rescue horses drinking out of the pond last weekend--good evening light and no wind, so nearly perfect reflections of them in the water.

I think they'd be neat photos to use on products to benefit the rescue, I just don't know how hard/time consuming it is to make/sell things like note cards, etc., or if there'd be any chance of making a profit.

There are about a dozen of the photos here: http://goo.gl/SBC5h
(these have been edited and are lower res versions)

    thanks for any tips!!

  3. Mary, I checked out your photos - they are spectacular! Any photos that you plan to use for printing on calendars/note cards/other paper products should be 300 dpi at the size they will be used (e.g. if the notecard is 6"x4", the photo should be 300 dpi at 6"x4"). If you use an online service like Cafe Press or Zazzle, it's tough to make a profit because these companies print on demand and the base prices are high. If you have them printed locally and print enough of them, the economies of scale might allow you to mark them up, sell them at a reasonable price and make profit for the rescue.

  5. Beautiful shot. Love your part of the country. My husband and I visited there about a year ago. Loved it.

  6. Beautiful. This is supposed to be e healing moon and I am glad I got to see your photos of it as last night we were out of luck with heavy cloud cover. It has cleared off this morning; so maybe tonight will provide more opportunities to see it.

  9. Just gorgeous! I was just thinking on my way home tonight, that I wish I could take moon pictures.
I have a point and shoot camera, so can't get those night pictures.

  10. We had a cloud covered night too, but it's silver glow through occassional thin spots was welcome.

    Beautiful moon...
