Five years ago today, I moved to the 7MSN Ranch.
Before it was the 7MSN, it was a patch of dirt with a view.
Every weekend during construction, I would drive down to see how much had been accomplished during the week, and every visit ended with me saying, "I can't believe I'm going to live here." Five years later, I'm still in disbelief that I get to live here. How lucky can a girl get. This post tells a little bit more of the 7MSN backstory, but usually what most people want to know is how the place got its name.
For some reason I thought you were there longer, but I loved the construction pictures and the explanation of 7MSN.
ReplyDeleteConstruction on our home started 8 years ago this Sunday, and, like you, we visited every week end to check its progress, and also, to this day, cannot believe how lucky we are to live here!
You have a wonderful life on your ranch, and I feel lucky to get to read about life on the 7MSN ranch. So thank you for sharing your stories with us, you deserve every ounce of happiness on the 7MSN ranch :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are very blessed indeed to live 7 miles south of nowhere with great "roommates"!!

Perfect name for a perfect home in a 7 miles from nowhere location. Being away from the rush of city life is so eye opening. I often wonder why we waited so long to get away from it.

Enjoy your day!
I think it's so wonderful that you found your dream life in such a beautiful place. The sign/gate totally rocks too!
ReplyDeleteI see a little window up there... do you have an attic?
ReplyDeleteI truly admire you and enjoyed reading your past stories this morning. I wish that I could just pick up and move to the country; but with children and my husband's job it is just not feasible. I do have moments when I dream of running away by myself when my youngest son is on his own! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Happy Anniversary! The 7MSN is a beautiful place made even more wonderful by all the critters living there. Love the shot of the gate and sky.
ReplyDeleteI love construction pictures. A house changes so much in the process of being built.
ReplyDeleteMuch like we people do.
I imagine you see many changes in yourself over the last five years. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I agree with Snappy Di - it IS the perfect name for the perfect place. Enjoy your slice of paradise and thanks for letting us in each day. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, good for you. I went and read all four parts of the "back story."
ReplyDeleteYou made it happen.
I used to work with a very quiet reserved lady who had never left the State of Oklahoma, literally, and had never been married even though she was close to 60.
Some girlfriends talked her into a trip to Hawaii. She came back, put all her affairs in order and moved to Hawaii and never looked back. I was so proud of her.
I admire people who go for their dream.
Would it be possible to post more photos of the construction of your house? Is it New Mexico Territorial style? Did you have an architect?
ReplyDeleteLove the last photo! You are blessed to live in your dream place, and thanks for sharing it with all of us.
ReplyDeleteI was saying the same thing every morning that I was visiting you. And, that was just for 3 days! You are indeed blessed with a little piece of heaven there.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm enjoying my morning coffee in my coveted George & Alan cup. *smile*
ahhh...I know the feeling my friend. Lucky us, huh?
ReplyDeleteJust read your tale of how you arrived to 7MSN. I can easily see this as a movie. Really. Quite interesting..!!
ReplyDeletethat is a great looking ranch home and what a setting. Good name too
ReplyDelete...and what a view! (Even before the Fur & Feather Crew.)
