Hank, four ways

It's time to update some of the pictures hanging in my gallery dining room. I took a new photo of Hank and have processed it a bunch of different ways. Would you care to weigh in on your favorite? There's a poll at the bottom of this post. Here are the choices:

#1 straight out of the camera:

#2 soft and faded:

#3 black and white

#4 old west

I really do love each of them. Maybe I should have them all printed and hang one in every room. I can be so wishy-washy sometimes. See why I need your help?

  1. Decisions, decisions ... it's hard for us to, or at least for me. I made my choice, although was just tempted to click on "I like all of them. Don't make me decide!", but I didn't. I'm anxious to see the end result of the voting.

  2. soft and faded is just "faded"

black and white makes him look like a disembodied head

old west don't do nuthin' special

...so my choice is "straight out of the camera" although the roof in the background bothers me a little...

  3. I liked straight out of the camera and old west but voted for old west, because I couldn't do two. I know what you mean about not being able to decide.

  4. Or you could buy a square frame that holds 4 pictures and put them all in.

  5. I had a hard time deciding between 1 and 3. Three won out because I love his colors against the blue sky.

  6. I love black and white photos but I really liked #2 alot! Still had to vote for black and white. They all are awesome!

  7. Hank is such a handsome fella, it was hard to make a choice. I too am anxious to see the end results. The Olde Bagg

  8. I also like two different ones, like soft and faded as well as old west, although the shadow on his neck in old west is kinda sistracting to me. Even if its on the others I never noticed it till that one.

  9. I was really tempted to click on 'don't make me decide'...but I ended up going for straight out of the camera. He is a very handsome boy.

  10. I voted for "I like them all, don't make me decide." I think putting them all in one frame or putting one of each in a different room is a great idea.

  11. Soft and faded was my choice. Mostly because of the overall mood it evoked. Sometimes with me black and white wins just because I don't want the gallery (I mean dining room) wall to look to busy.

  12. SOOC, including the donkey ears.

  13. I love all the photos you have hanging in your gallery. I want to get some of mine printed on canvas too. I may have a found a local source. Now, to choose a photo...I see your dilemma.

  14. I like them all too! What about a collage of all four?

  15. I liked the old west best but opted out of the vote....i voted "don't make me decide"...

  16. Voted old west. I kind of like the poster feel of that one. Or you could the Warhol effect. that's fun.

    How's his knee doing?

  17. So, your skies really are that blue in New Mexico?

  18. Breathe, Hank's knee seems to be about the same, although noticably knobbier. The boys are all going to the vet in a couple of weeks for fall maintenance, so we'll take another look inside then.

Nuzzling Muzzles, yes, indeed, they are.

  19. I agree that the Warhol effect would be interesting. Use all 4, or maybe add a sepia toned image instead of the SOC or Old West, and separate them a bit with the matting to make a window frame effect.

  20. Of course, the black & white is so very artsy, but I love the straight out of the camera shot because his coloring is so amazing, as is the color of that New Mexico sky.

  21. Ok. I've voted, so have seen the results so far.... I preferred #1 & #4 because of the beautiful blue sky against his coloring and markings. It seemed the black & white just didn't do justice to paint Hank, but all are great!

  22. Print all 4 and hang them together as a collection a la Warhol.

  23. I liked the sky in "soft & faded" but feel it washed out Hank too much.
My vote went to Old West, 2nd choice would have been SOOC
