How many miles were on that truck?

Thank you all for participating in the "what's the mileage on my truck" contest. Apparently my hints did more to confuse than clarify because almost all of the guesses were on the high side. I should be so lucky that my truck survives that long. I suppose I should have given you hints like "going to town makes me crazy" or "my ranch is my life and I rarely go anywhere," but I figured that was obvious.

Anyway, one person came within 1,895 miles of the odometer reading, and with a guess of 111,111 miles, the winner of the $100 gift certificate at online retailer csn|stores is Nuzzling Muzzles. (I will email the certificate information to you.) Here's how she came up with her guess: I got my truck in 2001 also, so I was just going to go look at my mileage and guess that, but I'm sure I haven't reached 100,000 miles yet. So, I'll guess a crazy number like 111,111. That sounds like a number to get excited about.

Honorable mention goes to Brenda, though, whose calculation made me laugh the hardest: 127,777 is my educated guess. I multiplied the number of oil changes by the years divided the tire number and calculated the altitude factor and the distance of Walmart...Or maybe I just guessed.

I'm going on a little road trip today, and you can bet I'll be thinking about what challenge I can pose for the next contest as the miles add up. Meantime, celebrate your independence and have a safe holiday weekend.
