  1. Awesomeness. Wish I could have been there, but then, there wouldn't have been any crab for anybody else :-)

  2. I so enjoyed this post. Not a human face in the whole post, but you could sure see that there was plenty of smiling going on.... a day nicely documented!

  3. Looks like those pictures could have been taken right here in Baltimore. You even used Old Bay--that's the yellow can, right? If not I'll send you some right away. Crabs are such happy, messy fun.

  4. Color me green with envy :) All I want to know is how did y'all keep them buggers alive all the way to New Mexico?

  6. Oh my... You just made me miss home very very much. I am from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The only place to find and eat Blue Crabs. At least you are doing it right :)

What? No pictures of the crawfish bread? :)

I have a Friday question: when you go to Morning Bray Farm, does Smooch go along and play with Justina and Don's pups?

  15. I'm glad y'all enjoyed yourselves.

Stupid question time--where did you get fresh Maryland blue crab in the middle of NM?

  16. I grew up in Maryland. I'm guessing they did, too.

Summer to me always meant visiting the Eastern Shore and getting fresh crabs and beer.

Said with my best Baltimore accent: "Hey there, hon, c'mon down da ocean fow some crabs an brewskees"

I was salivating when I saw that Old Bay get sprinkled on. yummo.

I wonder if crabs would go well with green chile?

Thanks for bringing back some old memories.

  17. Where on earth did you find fresh blue crabs in New Mexico? I'll have to wait until I can head back to Maryland to visit my daughter before I'll get to eat them.

  19. You know . . . I don't think I've ever eaten fresh crabs out in the open where you get up to your elbows in juice. I have done Maine lobster that way...

  20. Mmmmm....

Did you have to teach any newbies? Did they like them? grin My best friend married a guy from Indiana. We had a crab feast for the rehearsal dinner. Some folks really got in to it, some were horrified! LOL!

Summer - climbing in to bed at night on to crisp sheets because they were hung out to dry, your skin all warm because you were outside all day, and your hands smelling like Old Bay because it didn't all quite wash off......
