Hay hay hay! Let's have a giveaway!

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and enter today's giveaway. All you have to do to win an $80 gift certificate from online retailer csn|stores, sponsor of today's contest, is correctly guess how many bales of hay are left in the barn. How hard can that be? (It only took me seven tries to figure it out and I was standing right there. I hate counting hay!)


Here's a side view, if that helps:


And here are a few hints:
1. When the barn is full, it holds 294 bales.
2. There's enough hay to last us through mid-August, give or take a week, and depending on how much it rains, and when I can let the boys out in their regular pasture.

Now wasn't that helpful? Get out your calculator or take a wild guess. Just be sure to leave your answer in the comments by Friday night.

The prize: An $80 gift certificate at csn|stores.
To enter: Guess the number of hay bales left in the barn and leave your answer in the comments. If more than one person has the right answer, a winner will be chosen at random from the correct entries. One entry per person, please.
Contest closes: Friday, May 28, 7:00pm Mountain time. The winner will be announced Saturday morning.

    It's kind of early to be figuring stuff out (I have trouble counting my coffee scoops at 5 a.m., and that's only 4), but I'll give it a go ... 48 bales left.

    I'm going to guess 77. If anything that might be one or two low, but you said only one guess per person, and 78 and 79 were taken (and I don't like to share!).
    I'm down to six and a half, but my herd are now out on pasture 24/7, so that plenty for hay bags in the trailer or the occasional overnight in the barn. Fortunately, my supplier is right across the road, so if I need a few more, I can just go grab them. (What a blessing!) And we'll be cutting again next month, and put next year's supply in--so it's a good thing last years is almost gone--easier to move outta the way for the new!

    My best guess is 110 bales of hay on the wall, 110 bales of hay (sing along with me...)you take one down, pass it around, 109 bales of hay on the wall...

    OK...my first question would be, "Is this a trick question?" Wikipedia says most barns have barn doors --- we've all heard the expression, "Your barn door is open." Right? So does this agricultural building have doors? Nope. Trick question.

    OTOH, if we do call it a barn, and maybe the doors are open, then OK. I guess 72 bales of hay.

    But then you ask...is this really hay?

    73 is my guess before I saw everyone else's. And really.....if I lose, it would be great to come out and help you stack hay. I know it is really hard work and not fun if it is your own.....but sounds good to me and then my 3 year old could get them all messed up!

    Umm...based on what's left in my barn, subtracting pi from the square root of the hypotenuse of a rectangle divided by 2, adding two burros, one horse and several other domestic animals...I guess, and this is only a semi-educated guess:
