Team Tub Tipping

Some of you who tuned in yesterday wondered how that story ended. Did pesky Lyle dump the cart? Did I have to rescoop the poop and punish the perpetrator? Not exactly. Lyle stepped away from the cart and allowed me to carry on, piling more piles onto the pile.

But then George and Alan got in on the act and teamed up demonstrate their tub-tipping poop-pouring prowess. I could have stopped them, but it was more fun to stand back and watch.

Let's get this fork thing out of our way first.

Here. Let me do it. It's easier if you use this end.

Now watch carefully so you can do it next time.

Give it a little tug, then tip it over.

Now we wait for her to put it back so you can try it.

  1. HA ... that's too cute, although it does make more work for you. Guess it's nice to have some humor mixed in with your chores.

  4. (Smiles), looks like they were trying to help! I remember jobs like this. Horse, cow, pig, sheep, goat, chicken, rabbit, duck and turkey, along with a pigeon and quail or two... Shovel on... What fun times those with all the animals. Your place reminds me of mine growing up. Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina p

  6. It's like having a bunch of 4 year old humans undoing as you are doing.....lol. Couldn't they pick something other than the manure bucket? Naughty, naughty, naughty.

  7. Such rascals! Is that hoof trimmings I see in the last photo? Are the burros good with the farrier?

  8. Shirley, yes, those are hoof trimmings you see. The farrier had paid us a visit the morning I took these pictures. George and Alan are very well-mannered for the farrier and stand like little statues. It took a few trimmings to get to this point, but they trust him now.

  9. Wow, they are clever little rascals. Now, if you could get them to use that fork thing to actually scoop the poop into the bucket...but I guess that wouldn't be as much fun.

  12. You mean the dogs haven't cleaned up the hoof trimmings yet? I'm sure most people are looking at the cute burro antics. Me, I'm lusting after your cart.

  13. Honest to goodness you can't help but wonder what is going through their minds! Hahaa!

Do they have toys? I noticed the small ponies/horses at the end of our street have a ball and some other stuff to play with. Not that I've ever seen them use any of it!

  15. Aren't they just the greatest helpers? lol

  16. Does this count as using tools? If so, maybe you could teach them how to shovel their own stuff!
Love your blog! It is often the only time in the day I laugh out loud! Thank you!

  18. Thanks for the laugh. One time I was picking apples off of a neighbor's tree and one of his horses was helping me. She kept pulling the apples back out of the box as fast as I was putting them in. Silly critters.

  19. Normally, I wish that you and I lived closer. But I'm glad that your gang aren't around here to teach Siete that tub tipping trick. Maybe you could teach the boys to dump the bucket onto the manure pile?
