T'was the morning before Christmas and all through the house...
...all the creatures were stirring because they couldn't believe I was running around outside taking pictures instead of hauling my butt into the kitchen and getting started on tomorrow's feast. They are all very excited about the prospect of eleven people dropping crumbs on the floor for them to eat.
Here's the menu:
Appetizer: Baked Brie, by Bernard and Ellsworth's mom
Entree: The Beef Tenderloin formerly known as Lucero, by neighbor Sue
Everything else:
PW's Onion Blue Cheese Sauce for the beef
Spinach and Herb Mashed Potato Casserole
Roasted Shitake, Portobello, and Crimini Mushrooms
Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Spinach, Red Pepper and Feta Quiche
PW's Dinner Rolls
Dessert: something special from Baker Kim
I love before and after pictures, so I'd like you all to bear witness to this shot of my kitchen before the carnage. If you've got nothing better to do this afternoon, stop back for some durings and afters. I haven't tried live blogging before, but it might be fun...or not...depending how many kitchen catastrophes I can create.
Oh man, what a feast! Merry Christmas to you, your family and friends.
ReplyDeleteyummmm... sounds wonderful! I'm also borrowing from PW's recipes this year. I love her cook book. Glad to hear you're having a lot of friends for dinner.
ReplyDeletePlease have a lovely holiday!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a menu!
ReplyDeleteIf I had 11 people coming to my house I'd be having an absolute meltdown! I'll be checking in later to compare the before/after pictures and to see if it's as bad as when I 'tear' into things! HA!
Oh what fun! :) That kitchen looks perfectly spotless. Can't wait to see you destroy it, LOL! Enjoy your holiday!!
ReplyDeleteStill looks pretty to me...when does the carnage start? (oops, I'm eastern time..you have plenty of time...)
ReplyDeleteLove the menu and as you probably have figured out...kids have flown the coop, retired, day planned out and I'm ready to follow the carnage.
Have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm here at work, counting the minutes before I can leave and go home...
ReplyDeleteYou're so organized. There you are, elves all trained & ready to go, menu planned, lights hung, guests coming. I'm still working on my Christmas card!
Have a great time and if you're having too much fun to stop & post pictures, we'll all understand.
Much Love to you & your Merry Band of Furclad Friends
Carolynn
