The weather has warmed up a teensy bit since the storm earlier in the week, but it's still feeling a lot like winter. To celebrate the season and start the countdown to spring, I'll repeat my favorite snow pictures, taken and posted on December 9, 2008.
I love black and white pictures, and those are really beautiful, especially the close-ups.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, Carson
ReplyDeleteBest always, Sandra
I was feeling pretty cold...I feel better now. As always, your photography is amazing...maybe even better the second time around...
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Linda! Love your snow pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteLove the donkey ears from behind. :-)
ReplyDeleteBBbbbrrr!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. The boys don't seem the least bit bothered by the temps or the snow.
Those are great shots! Winter camouflage!
ReplyDeleteYour darlings and the pictures really are elegant and beautiful. What a pleasure to see them.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THEM! Do you take them in b&w or edit them to b&w from color? I've started taking pics in b&w on my Nikon but I'm not sure which way is really best??
ReplyDeleteLike your winter header, too! :)
Great pics! Black and white photos really stand out. The pics are so serene. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteBut that's the worst kind of snow for horses! Big, sloppy-wet flakes that pile up on their backs and then just soak in, 'cause the temps are usually just around freezing, and their body warmth is just enough to start the melt. It can chill to the bone! Those are the days I take pity on my herd and give them access to the barn (if they want).
I thought Alan was hiding behind a snow-covered bush, then I realized it was snow-covered George! They are hardy little things!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures were very good and publishing them in black & white made them even better!
ReplyDeleteBrrr!
Pony Girl, I shoot everything in color; if I think something might look better in b&w, I'll make that adjustment in Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteEvensong, you can build 'em a barn but you can't make them stand in it. These guys have 24/7 access to their stalls and to pasture, and they decide where they want to be.
Fabulous pics and I LOVE the black & white. It makes me cold just looking at them!!
ReplyDeleteI remember those beautiful pictures, thanks for the encore! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove 'em. We have had the cold, down to 10 most nights and lucky to get up to freezing during the day. The frozen pipe on the interior wall of the shop finally thawed and promptly burst this morning...spraying water all over the shop, under the door into the barn aisleway (freezing immediately) and even into the tack room a little.
ReplyDeleteOut came the shop vac, the warm halogen lights and lots of time moving soggy stuff....but we have been lucky. This mishap was in a barn for goodness sake, not a house like so many other folks have experienced.
Great photos! I think this set is my favorite so far! Stay warm ...
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Brrr.....soo cold. That's the first time I've seen a set of photos where those guys aren't mugging for the camera - they're just trying not to freeze!
