There is a cluster of juniper trees north of my house where Hank, Lyle, George and Alan can all stand together and get out of the wind. But since the horses tend to take over and push George and Alan to the less desirable fringes of this little forest, I've intervened and trimmed out a tree cave. It's just high enough to provide a roof over the heads of burros and short people.
I love to hang out in the tree cave. It's a cool, shady spot in the summer and a refuge from the wind in the winter. As soon as I walk into the tree cave, a burro or two will join me...
...followed by a cat who thinks the party doesn't start until he shows up.
A tree cave ... now you are so inventive and that is so cool! I bet George and Alan appreciate their own space, and Deets too.
ReplyDeleteDeets, you're my favorite. Sorry George and Alan.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great surprise party.
ReplyDeleteBest always, Sandra
Ahah thats cool. Do they use it by themselves?
ReplyDeleteI want a tree cave too! Especially if it comes with the burrito brothers and a way cool cat.
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt. Deets rules.
ReplyDeleteSydney, judging by the amount of poop I scoop out of there, yes, they do use the tree cave by themselves...often!
ReplyDeleteSooo, cool! I love the black cat!
ReplyDeleteDeets is looking to set them up again! Look out burrito brothers!
ReplyDeleteCarson, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving on the 7MSN.
I love the stories that show how your life is -- they refresh my spirit. Clean air and good company -- ah, life is good. Thanks, so much for sharing, Linda. @>----
ReplyDeleteA tree cave! How cool! Deets sure is a funny guy.
ReplyDeleteYou're the man, Deets...but then you knew that!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm not the only nut who carves out tree caves! My horses prefer the tree cave over the covered stalls in the barn!
ReplyDeleteI heart Deets! He is the coolest cat. I have noticed something with him though and maybe you have explained before but what is up with that curled tail of his? I notice that in every picture of him. It must be his signature or something hey?
ReplyDeleteAmy, I have no idea what's up with Deet's curly tail. It's always been that way...sort of like a bad perm. A lot of commenters have knowingly referred to it as a "monkey tail." Who knew?
ReplyDeletewell of course the party doesn't start until the cat shows up.
ReplyDeleteLove those ear shots!
