The herd at the 7MSN is enjoying another lazy weekend, not unlike this one from May 2008.
Man, I’m beat. Walked around all night, nibblin’ here, nibblin’ there. Time for a nap.I’ve got first dibs on the powder pit. Don’t tell Hank.
Crap...he saw me. Here he comes.
My turn. You’re outta here.
Nah nah nah nah nah.
Might as well go annoy Deets.
I’m dreaming of a green pasture...just like the ones I used to know...
...where the raindrops glisten...
...and horses listen...
...to hear sprouts begin to grow.
Yo, Hank. It’s my turn in the powder pit.
5 more minutes...just give me 5 more minutes.
That’s what you said 10 minutes ago. Come on, man.
Lyle...wake up. It’s almost time for her to feed us again.
Food? Where?
Come on, George. You can have the pit now.
Time to eat again. Life is good.
I really enjoyed the pictures and your comments ... it made me smile and chuckle to myself. It's neat to see the boys all relaxing, but when food is mentioned they're right on to the barn! HA!
ReplyDeleteI love how horses look when they lie down - very relaxed! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures again. Everyone loves the powder pit for a nap. It looks so soft and cushy, it's no wonder it's a favorite place for a little siesta. They're a real bunch of characters.
ReplyDeleteAll your animals look very content. Life is good! I love the powder pit. I'll bet they really do too!!
ReplyDeleteI love your boys and the photos and commentary are sure to put a smile on my face. Deets is the man! Love them all. (Hmmm, I've only been here for a week...going through your archives, enjoying it thoroughly...is Deets a boy?)
ReplyDeleteOur horses create several "dust bowls" as I call them in the paddock.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and commentary. Love Hank's smile while he is in snooze mode!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots. I love napping horses.
ReplyDeleteI put up a photo on my blog yesterday of four of our colts napping in the sun. You might enjoy it:

Ours would love your Powder pit! Right now they are nearly drowning in the mud. But, they enjoy the mud as well. :)

I love their interactions! Lucky you - to see it every day.
ReplyDeleteMan I love that cat.
ReplyDeleteI love the stories that your critters tell!
ReplyDeleteThe "powder pit"! LOL! That cracks me up. Like its a spa or something. I love all of your critters. You should see the mud pit my horses are dealing with right now up here in Michigan. Not a pretty sight.
ReplyDeleteGreat commentary, as always! Your animals have so much personality, they look like a fun gang.
