Tonight Salina and the donks were in the back yard and a horsefly got after Salina. She came as close as she could get to the sliding glass doors and stood there cranking her tail. Before I could get out there to help, the two donkeys came galloping across the yard, to the rescue. It was so funny.
Donkeys in some ways seem to have more of a sense of 'brotherhood' than the horses do.
June and Pat, these play sessions are noise-free. You'd think one of them would at least say OUCH, but no. No squeals, no brays, no nothin'. Alan is at his noisiest when he's sleeping, believe it or not. He moans and groans and snores. I'll try to get that on a video some day.
I know everyday when I click on your link I will be in awe of your photography. You always see the most interesting shots and know exactly how to shoot the correct prospective.
How cute are they!!! I love their personalities and how expressive their faces are! I miss having a donkey. He was a royal pain at times but he was a character for sure.
Linda, Your blog is just full of love and life. I adore seeing these burros interact...I've had a fascination for a long time now with burros. Always fancied that someday I would have one or two when I got that "farm" I often dream of. What is it about burros??? Blessings to you!
I love the clarity in your photos - they are so sharp and details jump out. Donkey mouths are so incredibly expressive. And oh, how I miss seeing faces like these out my own window.
Those guys play like puppies!
ReplyDeleteDo they make lots of noise when they're messin' around like that?
Gosh, they're cute!
These guys never fail to make me smile. They are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteAdorable as usual.
ReplyDeleteGAWD!!! I LOVE those boys!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a familiar sight. :)

I will never get enough of these two. So sweet and funny.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Those guys are just so cute together! I love them to pieces!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Linda! Yup, they are doing what boy donks do best.....rassle!
ReplyDeleteI guess they really are 'playing', but wondering also, do they make noise? I simply adore them!
ReplyDeleteMust be a boy thing. My guys play the bite-the-face game too, but the fillies didn't.
