My friend Kim is a baker extraordinaire, so for the last umpteen Christmases and Easters, she has been in charge of bringing dessert. Today she combined a made-from-scratch chocolate cake with an activity to keep the kids busy. She brought a cake, an apron, and decorating tools for each little girl, and the dining room was turned into a confectionery.
And poor pitiful Smooch was left outside to watch.
Smooch isn't used to being around kids. Heck, she's not used to being around people! But I couldn't stand it any longer, so I brought her inside on her leash. She jumped up on her chair, and Ruby jumped right next to her. So far so good.
There was an immediate connection. Everything Smooch did, Ruby did.
Well, not quite everything, thankfully.
The day was filled with good friends, good food, and lots of fun.
how very sweet! Happy Easter to you and your gang at 7MSN.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so sweet. They are both a doll so I can sure see why they got along so well. Sweet, Sweet post.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful day! Happy Easter.
Give Smooch a smooch for me!!
Sounds like the kids had alot of fun! Even Smooch was having fun! Love the picture of Smooch with her tongue coming out!
ReplyDeleteSmooch knows a good soul when she sees one. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is really cute! Sometimes dogs just latch onto kids. Something about children can either scare them....or be very relatable (kids can be loud, but low stress, maybe that is why?) Smooch is such a unique and cool looking dog, very expressive!
ReplyDeleteThat is simply the best ... hurray for Smooch, and for Ruby too! Too cute with the little girls doing their cake decorating, and what a neat idea.
ReplyDeleteSmooch and the little girl both look pretty happy.
ReplyDeleteSmooch is so smoochable and boy, he sure knows how to pick a best friend ! Looks like you all had a very Happy Easter !! <3
ReplyDeleteSmooch is a very sweet little girl, too. Looked like a happy day for all.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....how cute! Glad you had a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteThat last photo of Ruby and Smooch had me crying! Friends and family (especially sisters) are the best fun on Easter. Can't wait 'til June and re-making friends with the entire herd.
ReplyDeleteThat little Ruby is just beautiful. I'm glad she and Smooch became fast friends.
ReplyDeleteAw, you can totally see their connection. How sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, how sweet is that? Ruby isn't much bigger than Smooch, either. Nothin' like puppy love. Excellent project for the girls, too. I'll bet they had fun with that.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have a little something over at my place for you.
Those pictures are absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteSmooch is the coolest dog, and how sweet she and Ruby became friends. Such priceless photos! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww...just look at Smooch and her new BFF...lol!!! Smooch appears to be doing just fine, but I know what you mean about being cautious with her around kidlets.
ReplyDeleteKidlets have a tendency to move "too fast" for pets that aren't used to them. Sometimes I wonder how I can keep up???
;)
Awwwwwwwwww.....what a doll, and the kid is pretty cute too!
ReplyDeleteHoppy Easter to all. Glad the EB had a stay of execution this year!
The girls look like they had such fun decorating the cake and Smooch and his new BFF Ruby are so cute together. I wouldn't have been able to resist that face looking in the window at me either.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful Easter!
Tarcey
