Sunsets like this are a dime a dozen in New Mexico, and you'd think I'd be over them by now, but I'm not. When I see Mother Nature doing her thing, I have to drop what I'm doing, grab the camera, and run out to the front porch.
So what if the rice is boiling over...
And the chicken is sticking to the pan...
And the smoke detectors are starting to scream...
Some things are just worth stopping for.

OMG. That's stunning.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset... well worth a few crisp bites. Or maybe cereal :)

I guess if I saw that outstanding beauty out my window, I'd go running with camera in hand too. Too bad about the rice/chicken but at least you know your smoke detectors are working!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful, it looks as if the mountain is on fire
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! The colors are amazing! I'd burn dinner too if I had that to look at.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSunset Photo #1 is my new background.. ( sorry George and Lyle.......I'll get you back up there soon, I promise :) )
ReplyDeleteI agree, those photos are show-stoppers for sure. So what if you end up having Rice Crispies for dinner while your pans soak!

Fantastic SWF photographs. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing colors, great shot! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous--and I don't think we ever really do get spoiled into becoming blase about spectacular sunsets. Ours in north Texas are usually somewhat less spectacular, but every once in a while (my kitchen faces west and north) I'll let something burn while I run out to see what kind of a picture I can make out of the drama in the back yard. Thanks for these; they're simply lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset...gorgeous colors...
ReplyDeleteWow! I just want to jump in that first photo. I never get tired of the beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, to hell with the rice and chicken when you can get shots like this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos all of them, but the first one is really wonderful!
ReplyDeletethat is so worthy of burning dinner... I hear peanut butter and jelly calling :)
ReplyDeletejust stunning!
That was so worth burning your dinner over...absolutely amazing...
ReplyDeleteYes, they are & that sky is no exception! Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou can always go to McDonald's! hehehehe
Man does not live by bread alone ... it was so worth letting the rice go in order to get that shot. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThat really makes me crave summer....don't know why.
ReplyDeleteDid you have to settle for some Cup o'Noodles or a PB&J?? ;)
All those shots are brilliant.

ReplyDeleteI used to live in Albuquerque, NM from second grade until fifth grade. I totally agree with you I could never get over the sunrises and sunsets in the Land of Enchantment. I miss them sooooo much! Your photographs are fantastic! I am so glad that you grabbed your camera and then shared what you saw with us. I live in Illinois. It is flat here. Sunsets happen but nothing like NM.
