I am all about surrounding myself with the things I love. But since bringing the horses and burros into the house might be a bad idea, I can at least hang their pictures on my walls. Awhile back, I showed you how I was hooked on simple glass clip frames to display photographs. Today, I will share another display idea for those extra-special images you might like to hang on your wall forever.
Nothing says "art" quite like canvas, so I picked a few of my wannabe-masterpieces and uploaded them to a place called Simply Canvas. I am in awe of the finished products (and they are not paying me to say that.)
I had Simply Canvas print five photographs, then gallery wrap the canvases on 1.5" deep stretcher bars. Not only is the quality amazing, but they turn these around in no time, and their customer service is extraordinary. And they're funny, too. Here is part of the email they sent to tell me that my canvases had been shipped:
...Please don't tackle the Fed Ex driver when they arrive. You can wait a few extra minutes for them to stop the truck.
Their prices are very reasonable, and they offer great discounts and specials (I got one 16" x 30" and four 10" x 16" for $320, with shipping).
I'm running out of wall space, so I either have to move or stop getting hooked on displaying photographs. To see what other folks are hooked on this week, check out the links at Hooked on Fridays.
Those are amazing, and I never knew you could do such a thing. The price really isn't that bad, like you said. Thanks for sharing ... this certainly is something to keep in mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing about teh Price is Right...be back to the pictuires later---they look great!
ReplyDeleteOkay so it was Wheel of fortune...same thing!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you are saving up photos for another calendar next year!
ReplyDeleteWow, those do look amazing! I'm going to have to check it out...
ReplyDeletewow those are great and the price is fantastic I have ONE 16x20 that was nearly 300.00 with shipping ect... I will have to book mark this place ... the pics are BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are great! Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteThose are great! Very personal art.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to have digital photos of a certain pixel size to replicate a good quality photo on the canvas?
Pony Girl, the images for canvas should be 100 dpi at the size you want them to be printed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and a great idea. I'm definitely going to check out the site, there are some photos, I think I would like on canvas.
ReplyDeleteThey look great! And thanks for the tip and the link.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this! I love it! I am definitely going to be uploading some photos for them to print. I have a beautiful frame just waiting for a canvas. Thanks again,
ReplyDeleteHeather
If I had a lot of money I'd get some photos done on canvas, but being as I don't have a lot of money, I'll have to keep dreaming. These look fantastic though, especially the first one!
ReplyDeleteI think when companies are a little more relaxed like that I'll more likely use them-a lot of people say oh no they have to be professional...but that makes them easier to work with I think!
Although mine are not that large, I send printable canvas found at Office Max through my printer. I use a photoshop program to make my photos watercolor or chalk drawings. They turn out wonderful, then I mat them. Just a thought when you want something small and less expensive. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow; every time I visit your blog, I leave in awe of the beauty and the humor you so willing share. Thanks for making my evening with the pics!
ReplyDeleteHarmony to all,
Janet
Great tips. I will check it out. Your pictures are definitely worth the wall space.

What a great idea, thanks for the recommendation - wonderful gift idea for my husband who takes fabulous photos!
ReplyDeleteI think your photos look fabulous no matter how they're produced. Printing on canvas is a wonderful way to dress them up and they're so easy to display. Thanks for the referral to the on-line shop.
ReplyDeleteThose are SO cool, what a beautiful way to turn your treasured photos into art.
ReplyDeleteOh My! These pictures are soooooo pretty. Nice! I'll have to check back and see how you did this, I want some!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI tried to go to the Simply Canvas site and poke around a bit, but they wouldn't let me view pricing because I'm not a professional photographer and I wouldn't supply them with a Tax ID number. Is there a way to work with this company as a private individual or am I just out of luck?
These are just so pretty!
Danni, I don't have a tax id number nor am I a professional photographer - I think all I did was make up a name when they asked for a studio name in the registration process. Once I registered, they sent back an email, and then I could view their pricing.
