Breakfast Interruptus

I'm not sure what sparked the stampede Sunday morning at breakfast. Surely I couldn't have had anything to do with it... I mean, just because I was scaling the stall pipes trying to take pictures...nah.

All I know is that it was the middle of January and warm enough for me to be outside at seven in the morning. And it was warm enough to ride Hank all afternoon. And watching the inauguration concert on tv last night kept the warmth alive. I'm feeling just the teensiest bit homesick for D.C. right now. I'll get over it. But meanwhile, have you seen Malia Obama taking all those pictures with her cute little camera? I think she must have a blog.

  1. Couldn't have been your fault, they should be used to seeing you climbing around things, under things, over things, for a picture!
Don't get too homesick for D.C. it's going to be a nightmare there this week, they're shutting bridges into the city, it takes 2 hours to go 5 blocks etc...
    They are cute kids.

  2. They've all turned into hams for the camera, that's all. Love the sunbeams. Warms my little heart over here.

  3. Oh dear, it's funny the things that set them off, isn't it? I slipped on a patch of slick straw once during feeding and five donkeys went flying in separate directions so fast it made my head spin. My heart was already racing from almost falling and then the bedlam of the exodus about stopped it cold! lol
I saw Malia with her camera - she was totally star struck when Beyonce' was singing, wasn't she? :-)

  8. Hi there! I visited here after seeing you on Bossy's "They're Just Like Us" this morning, and just wanted to say that your pictures are absolutely lovely!

If you don't mind saying, what kind of camera do you use?

  9. It's funny, the equines know it's you, but aren't sure about your perch I guess. You're such a mean mom to scare them so. :)

Happy inauguration day! Tears will flow. I wish you could join our little Democratic party, here in the heart of Republican central (Texas).

  13. Thanks for sharing!

I know that the camera is really just a small part in taking a great picture, but since I only just got my first big-girl camera for Christmas, I'm finding myself getting really carried away by the technical side.

I can't wait to see more shots!
