Skywatch Friday, dining al fresco

Hey, George...Alan...could you stop eating for just a second? The sunset behind you is gorgeous. You really need to come up for air and watch it.

Huh?

What sunset? Can't you see we're busy here?

Be that way. Get your big ears out of the way then
and let everybody else take a look.

For more views of sunsets and the sky around the world, visit the Skywatch Friday home page.

  1. Linda, wonderful pictures as usual. Those guys make great props for your pictures - I guess it's their way of earning their feed.

This will be my last comment until the first of the year because Betty and I leave tomorrow morning for Tennessee.

I wish you and all your critters a blessed and joy-filled Christmas.

  9. Unappreciative burros! Do you always feed them with a camara in your hand? I'm glad you did, that is a really stunning sunset and a nicely put together post as well.

  10. Those two donkeys are simply adorable and this conversation reminds me of the ones I have with my two dogs when i want them to pose in front of a beautiful scene :) They of course would rather run around the woods in search of wild life tracks.

An exceptionally vivid and colourful sunset you have posted this week for our enjoyment. Thank you for that and merry Christmas too.

  19. Linda - my husband wants to know the details of your photos. Obviously you were using the flash (right?) on the donkies, but what aperture and shutter speed did you use?

Apparently, he's tired of seeing me struggle with sunset pictures...

  24. CindyDianne, tell your husband I cheated and used the camera in Program mode - I was in a hurry and didn't want to miss the sunset! But the stats tell me that the photos with the donkeys in the foreground were shot at 1/60, f:3.5, 18mm on the zoom, with the built-in flash. The last one was at 1/60, f: 5.6, 135 mm on the zoom.

  39. As someone said here, I too, find there's nothing to keep me smiling and giggling better than talking burros. The thing is, you obviously do hear them, because I've found that donkeys are extremely "talkative" in their way and they are also very...smartASS...of course! LOL. You do capture exactly what they are saying, I think.

Gorgeous sunset and definitely better with George and Alan in the photos.
