Photographers tend to specialize – Ansel Adams had his landscapes; Edward Curtis, his American Indians; Annie Liebowitz, her celebrity portraits. Each found and developed their area of interest; they made their mark in their specialty and became world famous for their work.
I don't know that I've found my area of interest as much as it has found me.
Whether it's from Lyle...
or Hank...
or a snake...
or a bull...
I seem to be developing my specialty. I doubt it will ever make me famous, but just in case it does, I wanted to share with you the photo that started it all, the photo that launched my career. When the coffee table book is published, I want you all to be able to say, I knew her back when – I was there!
So here it is...
the singular, defining image...
a self-portrait, taken in April 2006 and discovered today in the archives.
Oh dear...that's too funny!! Love that self portrait! :P
ReplyDeleteyour self portrait should be on the front cover.
ReplyDeleteMy specialty is photo's of my goats, turkeys, and chickens.
It's so hard to pick a favorite out of all these great pictures. I guess it will have to be the self-portrait, love that Hank's tongue is hanging out in this one too.
ReplyDeleteLinda that is too funny.
ReplyDeleteFunny!
ReplyDelete~Southern Commander~
What a hoot! Great portraits!
ReplyDeleteHarmony,
Janet
Funny!! But can you leave the snake out of the coffee table book pleeeease??
ReplyDelete:) I definitely would take it as your own personal "signature" you definitely bring a smile to everyone who reads your blog! I LOVE your self portrait. I hope all your animal buddies keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteWhat funny photos, though the snake's a little spooky--that's a rattler, right? I hope you don't think this is a weird question--do your horses like you to grab their tongues? (I figure the snake probably doesn't).
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDelete(Goodness...there's another Tracey with an E out there!)
"It does not always pay to have a golden tongue unless one has the ability to hold it." (Paul Johnson)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Linda. You're definitely on to something - not sure what - but it's something.

Hee hee! I love those tongue shots. They are hard to take, at least with a camera like mine. When My Boy is smacking his lips, every time I click the camera, the tonque is usually back in his mouth! It takes several tries to get a good one! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Pictures like that have a way of finding us from time to time, don't they?!
ReplyDeleteThe most elegant horse loses all of that and turns into a funny pony when they have their tongues out! Love the pics.
ReplyDeleteLOL great pics. I want to know what the title of the coffee table book would be LOL
ReplyDeletePerfect. I'm happy you've found your forte. I can see the family resemblance.
ReplyDeleteI have a Curtis on my wall that I love so much.
OMG, now that is way too funny! Your pictures always brighten my day, but seeing your self-portrait today about had me spit my coffee on the keyboard!!!
ReplyDeletethat's too funny! You're a hoot!
ReplyDeleteIs that the animal equivalent of holding two fingers up behind someone's head? You do have a great bunch of characters.
ReplyDeleteI would say that your specialty definitely found you! :0
ReplyDeleteHa, ha - I love Carolynn's comment. Very funny. It must feel so good to have identified your specialty! :-D
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carolynn~you both even have the same expression in your eyes! Love your animals and your site!
ReplyDeleteLol, it is curious how that works with you. Those horses are ALWAYS hanging a tongue out!
ReplyDeleteHoly...WOW! Now that is a set of horns on that bull. Would love to see more photos of him if you have them!?
ReplyDeleteYou have a marvelous family. I want to know why everyone but the bull and you are sticking their tongues out?
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I came here for Skywatch, and scrolled to see more pics like I did last week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I like your Skywatch series, too.
Sue
