My favorite times to take photographs are just as the sun is coming up and going down...plus or minus an hour on each side. These are the golden hours, and they happen to coincide with breakfast and dinner out at the barn.
So there I was, down on one knee, waiting for George and Alan to do something cute...
...when out comes Deets to help me.
Have you ever tried to take a pretty picture with a cat sitting on your back? I don't recommend it.
I gave up and just tried to take a pretty picture of the cat...still sitting on my back.
It's amazing that you got that great picture of Deets, on your back. You must be very flexible. I think you even got the moon coming up in the shot, but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat is the moon, Arlene - just a happy coincidence. What I wouldn't give for longer arms! It was one thing to stretch out my arm and point the lens toward me with the old point-and-shoot...it's a lot more challenging with the DSLR. Thank goodness for a wide angle lens.
ReplyDeleteLinda that is impressive. Deets looks so lovable. I just want to squeeze him.
ReplyDeleteAren't cats funny? Mine likes to come sit on my tummy at night and snuggle up to me!
ReplyDeleteLol, our five month old Rhodesian Ridgeback pup does that too us too! Although she settles with a paw on our lap. The cat is definitively the star of your post, I'm sure it knows the concept of being the main protagonist rather than a prop.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from West Africa,
Esther
Happiness is a cat sitting on your shoulders. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with the great shot of Deets on your back!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely photos. The light is fantastic. Looks like the donkeys are stoking up on food for the trip to Bethlehem!
ReplyDeleteDon't cats get everywhere! They just have to be in on the act.
Very good, considering the angles you had to work with!
ReplyDelete:)
Ha ha. Sometimes I have to garden like that. Never thought to try and take a picture though. Deets sure looks handsome with that thick winter fur.
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a lover Deets is... these animals are just human after all.
ReplyDeleteI guess Deets just thought he deserved some equal time, but my gosh how on earth you got those shots is beyond me! Job well done!!
ReplyDeleteI've barely mastered taking pictures, still working on mastering the camera, but taking pictures with the cat on my back....I'm probably years from even trying that. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! At my mom's barn, if you stop moving long enough, you've got a barn cat glued to your lap or leg! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is just too funny! Taking pictures with a cat on your back. Now you have some talent girl!
ReplyDeleteI knew a pony who let a cat sleep on her back. In fact, I often let a cat sleep on my back. I've never tried to take a photo of it though. I'm impressed that you managed to do it without falling over. Deets knows that despite all those other animals around you, he's really the King of the World. After all, he's a cat.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME pics:)! Deets is ADORABLE!!!
ReplyDelete~Southern Commander~
Cute! My cats jump on my cats when it's least expected, but I don't think I could manage to take a pic of it. Good job! :-)
ReplyDeleteDeets is the James Dean of the feline world, I think. Coolest Cat.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! You must be a contortionist to get these shots!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic! How odd that he would come and sit on your back of all places! That's why cats are my favourite animals, they always surprise and are so humourous!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool shot you got of him sitting there, keeping guard...
merry christmas!
LOL Silly Deets!!!!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy popping in here to see your sweet pets... :)
Thanks for the smiles these past couple of months!
Merry Christmas!!!!
