There's trouble in the pasture ... trespassers have crawled under the fence.
Sheriff Hank and his two loyal deputies move in to control the situation.
Deputy George looks them in the eye.
Deputy Alan looks them in the other eye.
The big buck tells his girls to move on.
Don't worry, guys! We've got your back!
Now that is just too cute ... are they all really good 'watch dogs'?
ReplyDeletePat, the boys don't miss a trick, and the cool part is, they'll tell me when I need to come outside and check something out. Whether it's a vehicle going down the road or a herd of pronghorn, if it's not supposed to be there, I hear about it. Alan will bray, or Hank will whinnie, or Lyle and George will stampede.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love Pronghorn Antelope. I have a great picture of one from a trip we took to Yellowstone. For some reason he let us come up to a few yards from him and he just stood and looked at us.
ReplyDeleteLove the back up guys too. They're clearly 100% behind them.
Dan
Looks like you've got yourself a couple of tough hombres there. Sheriff, Deputy and Posse to keep everyone in line and off their property.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! What a life you lead! I am jealous! Your horses are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHope you caught the HBO series Deadwood - another sheriff who meant business.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part was when Deputy George claimed one eye and Deputy Alan claimed the other. Bwahaa!
ReplyDeleteSounds alot like Mayberry around there. :)
~Lisa
wow what a herd of antelope, love the eyes on them :D too cute!
ReplyDeleteLinda-
ReplyDeleteHank is very handsome, so is Lyle, but there is something about Hank that gets me...
It's funny too, because I am usually a sucker for chestnuts with chrome, but Hank's bay and chrome make my heart go pitter patter!
Then there is the George and Alan duo....
Linda! How cool is that!?!!! I love brushes with nature. Very good posse you have there, although Hank & Lyle could maybe each grow a pair...I'm just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThis was too cute. I know antelope are curious, but I guess they were not taking any chances with those two.
ReplyDeleteI just wonder if you realize what a great life you lead at 7MSN? I love your posts.
Just too funny! Our stallion lets us know when a car's coming up the road. But, from the sound of his calling, I think it's more "Oh boy! Bringing me a mare!" than an alert. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL - I like those two deputies you have!
ReplyDeleteBetween Salina's watchful eye, very loud alarm call, and Rafer Johnson's boldness and loud bray, we are set as well when it comes to knowing if something is happening outside.
The Corgis can also hear (feel?) if the horses are running, even inside the house, and they will bark a certain bark which means I need to look out the window.
You know, you could have your own TV show on Animal Planet!
Andy and Barney for sure. Those burros better not have any bullets.
ReplyDeleteSo, is that what you would call A Paint?
ReplyDeleteYes, Bossy, that girlie-man hanging near the barn while the burros put their lives on the line is, indeed, a Paint.
ReplyDeleteThose antelope obviously didn't realize whose territory they were moving in on...then they realized who they were messing with and were "out of there!" Your horses and donks are the greatest!! :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute and those antelope are beautiful. My brothers ranch had herds of them each year.
ReplyDeleteBad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?? Wow, very cool. Never a shortage of action and critters around your place!
