Sharing Breakfast

After I posted yesterday’s breakfast pictures, I remembered a picture I had taken during George and Alan’s first morning at the 7MSN. I had picked them up from the BLM facility in Colorado the previous day (a story in itself) and they spent nine hours together in the trailer, getting to know each other. I call this one “sharing breakfast” and it remains one of my all-time favorites.

The whole reason I started this blog was to keep track of the progress I was or wasn’t making with the training of these little guys. Little did I know that it would evolve into this place where people from all over the world would come to read about my horses and burros and whatever else I might have to say. Go figure! A lot of new folks have been stopping by to visit lately - thank you all for coming! And thanks especially to Twinville, whose llama wrote a very nice review of what's been going on over here, and sending readers over for a taste of my vida loca out here 7 Miles South of Nowhere.

  1. That picture couldn't be cuter, I hope you have it framed somewhere. I think we would all be interested in hearing how you adopted these two guys from the BLM. I know I would. Just adorable!

  2. Arlene, if you click on the link in today's post (a story in itself) you can read all the details about how and why and where I adopted George and Alan. It was quite an adventure.

  3. Hi Linda,

I'm a newbie on your site and am already hooked. In fact, you and The Pioneer Woman have both inspired me to be a better blogger. What with my notoriously short attention span, I'll see how long that lasts....

  5. That picture is WAY too cute! I can never figure out if my favorite part of your blog is the pictures, the stories, or the saying from Shoebox. Does anyone else have that problem?

  6. Gosh, you called me and Cataleya sweet!
I'm just calling it the way I see it, girlfriend! your blog ROCKS!

And George and Alan are going to end up with a huge fan base. They are just the most darling burros I have ever seen!
I SOOOOOO want a burro or two of my own, but I just know my neaighbors wouldn't go for the braying. Are George and Alan quite....'vocal'?

Give 'em both some cheek rubs and ear scratches for me, k?

  8. I dont know Janet- this first time I stopped in here and saw the donkey pics, I was hooked. Took about 3 seconds for me to fall head over heels for those long ears and sweet sweet eyes!

I too hope you have that pic of the two boys framed and hanging somewhere! It is fantastic!

  9. Twinville, George and Alan aren't very vocal in the grand scheme of things...Wynonna makes much more noise than the two of them put together. George doesn't bray at all. Alan brays maybe once a day - when he sees me walk out of the house to feed him, or just to get my attention if he wants me to come out of the house. I think it's the sweetest sound in the world...but then again, I'm comparing it to Wynonna's bellowing!
