Indoor herd dynamics

It has taken over a year, but Smooch and the indoor cats appear to have reached a peaceful co-existence. Has Smooch finally figured out that the cats don’t want to play with her? Have the cats finally figured out that Smooch means no harm? Or is everybody just so tired that nobody cares?

Strangers will be in the house for the next two days, which will throw the entire herd, including me, into uncharted territory. Actually “tizzy” might be a better word for it. The company I work for is celebrating its centennial this year, and a book is being published to mark the occasion. Said book is due to the publishers next week, and it’s not done. A marathon editing session is scheduled to start tomorrow afternoon, right here at the 7MSN. My boss wants me to help and I agreed, but since I can’t be gone overnight from the ranch, she and another co-worker are coming here. What have I gotten myself into this time? This could go down as one of rancher woman’s biggest adventures.

  1. Except for the work deadline, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun to have company for a few days.

  3. Oh goodness, I can just see it now! Your guests will be so enthralled with the all of your fabulous critters at the 7msn that nothing gets done and you still miss your deadline! ;) Or, they might never leave, lol!
Can't wait to hear all about the "tizzy!"

  4. Just don't let your boss see how much fun you have during the day when you're home alone "working"!

  5. Oh Boy, I hear ya. I find it very disrupting to have house guests for any length of time (translation: longer than a couple of hours). It is great that they're accomodating you though and they will no doubt be completely entranced by your herd.

  6. I bet it will be a blast - the donkeys will surely charm the guests into a state of bliss, and if by chance not, the donkeys will be there waiting when you need to get outside the house for a BREAK. :)

  7. Just looking at the picture with that title made me giggle. I so understand those inside herd dynamics.

  8. Oooohhhhh.....deadlines are NOT a favorite of mine. I am so glad that I am on summer vacation, and do not have to worry about the "dreaded deadline!" Hopefully you will all fare well. I am sure that there will be some great stories to tell!
